The Many Faces of Urban and Rural Displacement

This research involved interviews with 28 tenants in Kingston, Ontario, on their lived experiences of rental housing displacement. The report, “Many Faces of Urban and Rural Displacement: Kingston Report” outlines how tenants were displaced, what steps they took to fight their displacement, the impact displacement had on them, and some root causes underlying their displacement.

This study report was part of a broader intra-Provincial project conducted by the Social Planning Network of Ontario (SPNO) in collaboration with four communities and their social planning organizations in Cornwall Region, Oxford County, York Region, and Kingston & District. A provincial report on all four communities was published in conjunction with the Kingston report.
